Benjamin “Ben” R. McDermott is an associate attorney at the El Paso office of Reyes & Reyes Law Firm. Ben is admitted to practice law in the state of Texas.
Ben earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Arizona: James E. Rogers College of Law in Tucson, AZ in 2018. He was admitted as a Distinguished Scholar (full tuition scholarship). While in law school, Ben was a member of the Arizona Law Review and participated in the Wrongful Conviction Clinic. He received the James Glenton Boyer Scholarship Award and the George C. Dix Scholarship Award. Ben also received CALI awards for his performance in Refugee Law, Estate Planning, and Immigration Law. Prior to attending law school, Ben finished at the top of his class in the 2015 Council on Legal Education Opportunity Pre-Law Summer Institute, which was hosted at the University of Mississippi School of Law.
Ben earned his Ph.D. in Teaching, Learning, and Culture from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2015. He earned a Master of Education in 2009 from the University of Texas at El Paso. Prior to that, he attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN where he earned a B.A. in Geography in 2006.
