Sofia Reyes McDermott is an associate in the El Paso office of Reyes & Reyes Law Firm, PLLC. Her practice focus is on Social Security Disability. She’s a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR).
Ms. McDermott received her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she received recognition from the Minnesota Justice Foundation for providing more than 50 hours of public law service. Additionally, she was certified by the Minnesota Supreme Court’s Office as a mediator in divorce mediation and in alternative dispute resolution for mediation and arbitration. She was elected Vice President of the Women Law Students Association and member of the Latino Law Students Association.
Prior to law school, Sofia was selected to be a Thurgood Marshall Fellow. As a fellow, she attended the Council on Legal Education Opportunity hosted at Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of law in the summer of 2002.
Ms. McDermott graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A., in Government, where she received Dean’s list for six consecutive semesters with a 4.0 G.P.A.
